Say Cheese! This weekend, 10th & 11th August, Tavistock Town Hall hosted the Annual Tavistock "Real" Cheese Fair 2019 which was organised by Country Cheeses
We went out for a quick look and ended up spending a few hours there we just couldn't resist trying all the temping cheeses.
Tavistock was bustling with people, locals and tourists alike, a vast array of different types of cheeses were on offer to sample and buy, soft, hard, blue, Cow, Goat, Sheep, and vegetarian, there must have been a cheese to suit everyone.
If you like cheese, you will love Tavistock. One of the great things about Tavistock is the award-winning cheese shop. This can be found just behind the pannier market, next to Butchers Hall. With over 100 different cheeses to choose from it's a great place to sample a few and treat yourself. It really is a cheese lover's heaven.
To compliment the cheeses, right next door is De La Torres Olives, a unique specialist shop offering a large range of delicious olives and a selection of other Mediterranean products.
And a couple of my personal favourites Above "Little Ryding" from Wootton Organic Dairy and Below "Beauvale" by Cropwell Bishop Creamery
In addition to the cheese fair, Butchers hall was open with craftsmen and women selling their creations.
